How the data works

Everything on screen comes from public blockchains. Nothing is made up, and nothing here is financial advice.

Sources

• USDC. Every Transfer event from the USDC contracts on Ethereum (0xA0b8…eB48) and Base (0x8335…2913), read through an Ethereum and Base RPC provider. Mints and burns by the issuer are labeled as such.
• ETH. The value of every transaction in each new Ethereum block. Transfers made inside smart contracts (internal transactions) are not included.
• BTC. Every transaction entering the Bitcoin mempool, and every new block, from our own Bitcoin node. Value is the total of all outputs, which includes change sent back to the sender, so it overstates what actually changed hands.
• Solana. One full block is read about every 15 seconds from a Solana RPC provider, so Solana is sampled, not complete: its counts and totals are estimates, marked with ≈, scaled by how many slots each sample stands for. Validator vote transactions and failed transactions are left out. USDC is measured from token balance changes, so both Transfer and TransferChecked count. SOL drops are system transfers of 0.1 SOL or more; Jito tips and wSOL wrapping are left out. Slot height and slot time are read live, and TPS shown is non-vote TPS.
• Prices. Chainlink price feeds, used to convert ETH, BTC and SOL to dollars. They update on price moves or at least every hour.

Timing

Ethereum and Base are read in small batches of blocks and replayed evenly, so drops land about 15 to 30 seconds after the chain records them. Bitcoin transactions appear a second or two after they reach our node.

What a drop means

One drop is one transfer. At busy moments there are more transfers than the window can show, so drops are sampled, but the counts and totals include every transfer. Transfers under $1 are skipped. Lightning marks any single transfer of $1M or more, and it never gets sampled away.
